Super Foods for Super Stars

Formulator, Tigger Montague, Introduces Team BioStar

Team BioStar is made up of five riders and 8 horses. These riders and their horses are each unique partnerships unto themselves.

In putting together Team Biostar we choose these riders and their horses because they represent the high qualities we at Biostar hold dear: the horse comes first, integrity, passion, excellence, and the knowledge of the profound role of whole food for health, performance, and the environment.

Some riders like Quentin Judge (Double H Farm), Will Coleman, and Jonathon Millar have had their horses on the whole food program for two years.

Jonathon Millar and Contino

Jonathon Millar: April Featured Rider

I have had the good fortune this year to meet and get to know every horse on Team BioStar. I have had the privilege to be hugged by Shannon Peter's horse, Flor de Silva, to humble myself before her horse Odyssey.

I have been graced with the sweat of Jim Koford's horse Rhett, had my hair re-styled by Jonathon Millar's Contino, had a quiet moment between horse and human with Quentin Judge's Manrique Z.

I have marveled over Will Coleman's Twizzel and felt the great strength and courage in his horse Nevada Bay.

I have stroked the head of the amazing Double H Farm's Calvano and seen the great wisdom in his eyes.

In getting to know the horses, I have also gotten to know the riders. Each one is a real "horseman".

The horses' well-being, health, fitness, happiness to do their job comes first. And beyond their great sensibilities as horsemen and competitors, they are really nice people.

They are humble, funny, smart. They are great competitors because for them "sportsmanship" is a way of being, not simply an ideal.

They compliment and acknowledge other riders who had a better round, or who put in a better test, or who finished with a better placing. I have a deep and profound respect for these riders as people and as professionals.

Join us in following these great riders and their wonderful horses this competitive season!  Meet Team BioStar >>

Formulator's Corner: Coming to Terms

Demystifying the Terms Used In Food Labeling

"There are so many marketing geniuses, hype, and spin doctors in the food industry these days it's hard to figure out what is fact and what is "sort of fact", or what is brilliant marketing but no real substance: the emperor has no clothes! Knowledge is empowerment. The more we know, the more we are able to make conscious choices."  Read More >>
