Biostar featured rider, Sarah Nicolls, on how the whole food diet helped a laminitic pony, an ulcer horse and a horse with chronic colic.
Sarah: I changed my diet a few years ago, and this diet for the horses made sense to me. Now my horses don’t colic, have beautiful coats, and are really healthy.
I was afraid of the diet at first, but now I say, "Just dive into it and do it." It’s hard on the one hand to step away from commercial feeds, but once you do you will never go back. I think the closer we feed to nature the better the horses do. I board my horses, and even the boarding barn, seeing how good my horses look, has embraced the diet.... (continued)
