Get More Out of Whole Food

One of the most impressive things about whole food nutrition is its ability to provide more & more benefits over time. This is true when learning about whole food too.

Learning more about how foods function and how to maximize the utilization of food for health and performance will reveal more & more benefits to horses and riders alike.

If this is your first time to experience whole food, we recommend you start with our overview of whole food science.

A Quick Intro to Whole Food Science

Whole food science and nutrition stems from Nobel Prize winning research by Dr. Gunther Blobel.

Dr. Blobel discovered that proteins have intrinsic signals that govern their transport and localization in the cell and forever changed the belief of how nutrients are best delivered to bodily cells.

In other words, the cells in our horses' bodies rely on these proteins (called protein chaperones) to deliver the right nutrients to the right cells in the body.

Where do we find these proteins?  Whole food, of course!
Incorporating even a small amount of whole food in our horses' diets helps the cells in their bodies deliver nutrients found in the feed, supplements and medications they consume on any day.
